At least 61 people have died in Afghanistan due to heavy snowfall and rain on Wednesday and Thursday.
The storm has completely or partially damaged 458 houses.
The death toll has reached 61 and the injured more than 110, according to a statement issued by the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) on Saturday. "Reports of casualties due to snowfall and rain are still being collected from various areas and the number of casualties is likely to increase," the statement said.
Most parts of Afghanistan have been facing freezing temperatures and heavy snowfall for the past three days, due to which many major highways and roads, including the crucial link between the national capital Kabul and several provinces, have been closed.
