US President Donald Trump has said that Hamas must immediately disarm itself in order to implement the second phase of the Israeli-Palestinian peace process. He warned that if Hamas does not give up its weapons, its situation will be very bad.

President Trump made the remarks on Monday after meeting with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in Florida. “If they don’t disarm, there will be hell to pay,” Trump said. He also said that reconstruction in Gaza could begin soon.

The Gaza peace plan was put into effect last October. The 20-point plan    stipulates that a technical government will be established in the Gaza Strip, Hamas will disarm, and Israeli forces will withdraw from the area. Only after these processes are completed will reconstruction in Gaza begin.

Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu is pressuring Hamas to disarm before the Israeli forces withdraw. Meanwhile, Hamas officials are saying that an independent Palestinian state and complete disarmament should go hand in hand.

Trump praised Israel for its almost 100 percent compliance with the peace plan. While Israel continues to attack Gaza in violation of the peace plan  6.

President Trump also took aim at Iran. He warned that another major attack on Iran with US support could happen if it restarts its ballistic missile or nuclear weapons programs.

In response, Ali Shamkhani, a top political advisor to Iran's supreme leader, wrote on social media, "Any attack on Iran will be met with an immediate and severe response."

President Trump said Hamas must immediately disarm.
