Eleven people have died and 24 others have been injured in a road accident in Chitradurga district of Karnataka, India.

The accident took place on National Highway 48. According to the information given to the Indian media by the District Officer of Chitradurga, the accident took place at around 2:15 am on Wednesday night. 

A truck heading from Bengaluru to Gokarna collided with a truck coming from the opposite direction. The bus then caught fire. 

The bus was a sleeper coach. There were 32 tourists on board. So far, 11 bodies have been identified. All the injured have been admitted to a nearby hospital.
