The Palestinian Ministry of Health in Gaza has said that the number of Palestinians killed since Israel began its offensive on the Gaza Strip on October 7, 2023, has exceeded 70,000. The Palestinian side has stated that more than 170,000 have been injured in the incident.

A ceasefire was announced between Hamas and Israel under UN mediation last month, but Israel has not implemented the agreement.  Two children were killed in an Israeli drone strike in Bani Suheila in southern Gaza on Saturday. They were taken to the Nasr Medical Complex after being injured in the attack and were declared dead there. Ground forces also attacked various areas on Saturday.

Ismail al-Thawabta, the Gaza government's communications director, said the Israeli army had violated the ceasefire 435 times since last month. "The humanitarian situation in Gaza is very bad. The Israelis have destroyed infrastructure and vital services here," he said in a statement.
