Britain's Prince Andrew has lost his title. King Charles' brother Andrew will now be addressed as Andrew Mountbatten Windsor, Buckingham Palace said in a statement released Thursday night.
He was embroiled in a controversy over his relationship with notorious child sex offender Jeffrey Epstein. The investigation has been ongoing for weeks. Charles will also give up the Windsor Mansion Royal Lodge he now enjoys as a British prince. He gave up his other royal titles, including the title of Duke of York, last month. In his posthumously published memoirs, lawyer Virginia Louise Giuffre says she had sex with Prince Andrew three times. She accuses Andrew of raping her when she was a teenager. The lawyer, who fought for the rights of sex offenders and human traffickers, died in April at the age of 41. Her autobiography was published last month. She played a key role in bringing notorious sex offender Jeffrey Epstein to justice. Prince Andrew has denied Jeffrey's allegations in his memoirs, claiming he did not abuse her. But recently, emails from 2011 have gone viral on social media. In which, it appears that Andrew had a conversation with Epstein, a child molester and sex trafficker. While Andrew had claimed that his friendship with him had broken off long before 2011.
