The number of missing in Gaza is more than 9,500

Since the start of the Israel-Hamas conflict on October 7, 2023, the situation of 9,500 people is still unknown, according to the Civil Security Agency in Gaza.

Mahmoud Basal, the spokesman of the civil security agency, issued a statement and asked the International Committee of the Red Cross to coordinate with the Israeli authorities to determine their fate. "Since the ceasefire agreement between Israel and Hamas took effect on Friday, civil defense personnel have recovered more than 150 bodies and are facing challenges in the search due to limited equipment," Basal said. 

Gaza-based Palestinian state media reported that about 30,000 housing units in Gaza were destroyed and more than 90 percent of civilian infrastructure was affected. It called for the immediate lifting of the blockade imposed on the Gaza Strip and increased international assistance for humanitarian work.

Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdellatty and US Secretary of State Marco Rubio had a telephone conversation late on Friday and both of them discussed the detailed arrangement of the summit to be held in Sharm el-Sheikh, the maritime city of the Red Sea in Egypt. The co-hosts of the

conference will be Egyptian President Abdel-Fattah al-Sisi and his American counterpart Donald Trump. The Egyptian Foreign Ministry said in a statement on Saturday, "Abdelatti and Rubio discussed global participation in the summit as well as the arrangements for the implementation of the first phase of the Gaza ceasefire agreement."
