During the 200 days since President Donald Trump's term began, 1.6 million illegal immigrants have left the United States.

Homeland Security, the highest agency on American immigration, has claimed that 1.6 million (1.6 million) people who have been deported spontaneously, deported after arrest and whose visas have expired have left the United States in a period of 200 days after Trump strictly enforced the deportation of illegal immigrants.

The Secretary of Homeland Security, Kristy Noem, has released a statement saying that the number of people leaving the US spontaneously has increased due to the plans advanced by the Trump administration and the activation of ICE. "In 200 days, 1.6 million illegal immigrants have left America, this is our great success. As a large number of illegal immigrants leave the US, employment has increased. The pressure in schools and hospitals has decreased. We want to thank President Trump,' said the Homeland Security notice.

With the cancellation of the Temporary Protected Status (TPS) of countries including Nepal by the Trump administration, it is estimated that the number of people leaving the US will increase further. As of January 2025, there are 158 million (15.8 million) illegal immigrants in the United States, after a decrease of 1.6 million in 200 days, i.e. seven months, it is only 142 million, according to the data released by Homeland Security. Homeland Security Secretary Noem claims that the number of illegal immigrants, which has been continuously increasing for the past four years, has been reduced within a period of seven months.  According to

data, there are 12 million (10.2 million) illegal immigrants in 2021, 14 million (10.4 million) in 2022, 12.6 million (12.6 million) in 2023, 14 million (14 million) in 2024 and 15.8 million (15.8 million) in January 2025, and now there are 142 million (14.2 million). The Trump administration has allocated a budget of 74 billion US dollars for the entire term of Trump's tenure to deport illegal immigrants, of which 44 billion has been allocated for the detention and deportation campaign. The United States Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) claimed that 33 percent of the 279,000 illegal immigrants deported from the US during the seven-month period from the third week of January to the third week of August 2025. According to the data of

, 47,885 were convicted of criminal activity and 16,552 were involved in sex crimes. Those involved in 99 murders and 237 people involved in terrorist activities have been deported. Out of the 279,000 illegal immigrants arrested by ICE and deported from the United States, 33 percent of them were found to be involved in criminal activities, according to Secretary of the Homeland Secretary Christy Noem.
