US President Donald Trump has terminated the Secret Service of former Vice President Kamala Harris. Harris, who was also in the presidential election competition with Trump, canceled the Secret Service, and she became without a security service.

On Thursday, Trump revoked Harris' Secret Service effective September 1, 2025, and federal security agents will no longer provide him with continuous protection. According to US federal law, former presidents receive Secret Service protection for life and former vice presidents receive Secret Service protection for six months after their term ends. According to the law, even though Harris will not get Secret Service six months after his term ends, the then President Joe Biden issued an order and decided to give Harris one more year of Secret Service protection.

Rejecting Biden's order, President Trump canceled the Secret Service that Harris would get for one more year. As a former vice president, Harris' statutory security service period expired on July 21. According to former President Biden's order at the time, she said Harris would receive Secret Service until July 21, 2026.

'Former Vice President Kamala D. Any security procedures granted to Harris by executive order, except as provided by law, are revoked effective September 1, 2025," the statement issued by the Secretary of Homeland Security states.

Harris's senior adviser, Kirsten Allen, told the Associated Press that former Vice President Harris is grateful for the professionalism, dedication and unwavering commitment to security of the United States Secret Service.

Harris has been the first woman and the first immigrant woman to be the vice president, so the information could be a security challenge, according to the AP, which responded.
