The ongoing war in Gaza has entered a phase of ceasefire. It is expected that a ceasefire will be reached after Hamas agrees to the new proposal made by the mediator. According to international media, the Palestinian armed group Hamas has accepted the ceasefire agreement proposal.
Qatar has also confirmed that it has received a positive response with the aim of reaching a comprehensive agreement to end the war. However, Israel has not yet given any official response on the matter. For this reason, the mediators are now waiting to see what Israel's response will be.
According to the BBC, Egypt and Qatar made this proposal to Hamas based on the outline of the proposal given by US Ambassador Steve Wittkoff last June. According to the proposal, the first 60 days of ceasefire will be implemented . After this, the 50 Israeli hostages held by Hamas will be released in two groups. After that, more ceasefire talks will be carried forward.
Last week, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said that they would be ready for a deal only after all the hostages were released. But while Hamas has expressed its support for the proposal, Israel has not yet made any official comments. Instead Israel is attacking Hamas .
According to the Palestinian Ministry of Health, at least 60 people have died and 343 people have been injured in the last 24 hours. Aljazeera reported that 31 of them died because they did not receive timely treatment.
Since then, Israelis have also attacked those displaced in Khan Younis and living in temporary tents. Al Jazeera wrote that eight people died. Four more people were killed in another similar attack in Deir al-Balah.
Is Vipin back?
10 Nepalis were killed in the attack on October 7. 10 Nepalis were killed when the Hamas group attacked Alamim Kabuz in Israel. During the attack, Bipin Joshi of Kanchanpur was taken hostage.
It's been almost 2 years since he was held captive but he still hasn't been released . Last July 26, Bipin's mother Padma and sister Pushpa went to Israel. They have met the President and Speaker of the Parliament there and demanded Bipin's release. If Israel accepts the proposal of Egypt and Qatar as well as Hamas, it seems likely that Vipin will return .
Since October 2023, more than 63,000 people have been killed due to the ongoing war in Gaza. Of which more than 61 thousand 800 are Palestinian citizens and more than 1900 are Israelis . Similarly, Al Jazeera wrote that more than 156,000 people were injured.
