US President Donald Trump has said that he is negotiating to end the border dispute between Cambodia and Thailand.
Trump, who is on a visit to Scotland, wrote on his own investment social network Truth Social Network, "Recently had a conversation with the Prime Minister of Cambodia regarding stopping the conflict with Thailand."
He said in his latest post that he spoke with the Acting Prime Minister of Thailand and that the conversation was very good. "Like Cambodia, Thailand also wants an immediate ceasefire and peace," he said.
After talking to both sides, Trump mentioned that ceasefire, peace and prosperity will be natural and can be seen soon.
Before the war broke out in the country's rural border region, surrounded by farmland and hills surrounded by farmland where locals grow rubber and rice, tensions flared over a long-disputed ancient temple site on the border.
The clash started on Saturday for the third day in the coastal area about 250 kilometers southwest of the main frontline in the Gulf of Thailand.
Trump has said, 'I am trying to simplify a complicated situation! Many people have been killed in this war. It reminds me of the conflict between Pakistan and India, which was successfully stopped.'
Trump has also signaled that he will not proceed with trade agreements with any country until the conflict is stopped.
