The National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council of the Philippines has informed that at least 30 people have died due to heavy rains, floods and landslides in the Philippines since last week.
13 of them have been identified and the process of identification of others is ongoing. Likewise, seven people are still missing, some of whom are suspected to have been washed away by sudden floods and some buried in landslides. 10 people were injured in the incident.
About 14 lakh 60 thousand families have been affected by the natural disaster, which includes about 5.3 lakh people . According to the Civil Security Office, 88 cities and municipalities across the country have declared a state of emergency to facilitate disaster management.
Currently typhoon Bipa, Francisco and Ko-May have left the country's territory . However, the Department of Meteorology has predicted that heavy rain will continue for a few more days in some parts of Luzon Island . About 20 typhoons hit the Philippines every year, causing widespread property damage.
