As of Sunday, at least 14 people have died and 12 others are missing due to five days of heavy rain in South Korea, the government said.

According to the Ministry of Home Affairs and Security, one person was killed when a house collapsed due to heavy rain on Sunday, and another person was killed by a river in Gapyeong, northeast of Seoul.

According to the ministry, eight people were killed in the southern city of Sancheong due to a flash flood after heavy rains on Saturday. It is also mentioned that 6 people are missing. Six more people are missing in Gapyeong and the southern city of Gwangju, according to the ministry's report.

Early last week, three people, including the driver, were found dead in a flooded car after the retaining wall of an overpass collapsed during heavy rain in Osan, south of Seoul.

According to the ministry's report, about 3,840 local people have been displaced by Sunday morning at 9:00 a.m. local time. The rain has stopped in most parts of South Korea on Sunday and there will be no more heavy rain, according to ministry officials. According to the ministry report, around 600 to 800 millimeters (24 to 31 inches) of rain has fallen in the southern regions since Wednesday.
