Hundreds killed in Gaza during humanitarian aid distribution: United Nations

According to the United Nations on Friday, around 800 people have died trying to get humanitarian aid to Gaza since the last week of May.

It is said that most of them died near the distribution center of the Gaza Humanitarian Aid Foundation, which was operated with the support of the US and Israel.

This establishment, which has been operating as a private purpose, has started providing services in Gaza since May 26. Israel had previously cut off food and other supplies to Gaza for two months, threatening severe starvation.

Ravina Shamdasani, spokeswoman for the United Nations Human Rights Office, said in a conversation with journalists in Geneva, "In the period from May 27 to July 7, we recorded the deaths of 615 people near the centers of the Gaza Humanitarian Aid Foundation".

According to him, 'another 183 deaths are estimated to have occurred on the way of vehicles loaded with aid materials.'

'In this way, a total of nearly 800 citizens have been forced to die while trying to get help,' said Shamdasani.

The United Nations' comprehensive aid distribution system in the Gaza Strip has been virtually inoperative during the operation of the Gaza Humanitarian Aid Foundation. There have been many incidents of Israeli security forces firing on people queuing for aid.

foundation mentioned through a statement on Thursday that 'more than 69 million food items have been distributed'. But it has denied that there have been any near-death incidents with its distribution centers.
