At least 9 people died when a concrete bridge collapsed and a vehicle fell into the river in the Indian state of Gujarat. The Mahisagar bridge connecting Anand and Vadodara has collapsed.

According to Hindustan Times , six people were injured in the accident. Gujarat Home Minister Harsh Sanghvi has confirmed that 9 dead bodies have been found and 6 injured.

According to Hindustan Times, at least 4 vehicles have fallen into the river. According to Indian media, the bridge was built in 1985. Gujarat government spokesperson Hrishikesh Patel has said that the bridge has been repaired from time to time.
