Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is scheduled to meet with US President Donald Trump on Monday. President Trump has expressed hope that an "agreement" will be reached between Israel and Hamas this week.
Indirect talks between Israel and Hamas have started in Doha on Sunday evening. Its aim will be to mediate a ceasefire and reach an agreement for the release of hostages in exchange for Palestinian prisoners. .
On Sunday, Trump said there was a "high chance" of reaching an agreement.
'We have released many hostages, in terms of the remaining hostages, many of them will come out,' he told reporters .
Speaking before leaving for Washington by plane on Sunday, Netanyahu said that the meeting with Trump will definitely help to advance this agreement.
US President Trump is pushing for a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip, which is caught in a humanitarian crisis after almost two years of war.
Netanyahu said, 'I have sent a team to Doha with 'clear instructions' to reach an agreement on the terms we agreed upon.'
Earlier, he said that Hamas's response to the US-backed draft ceasefire proposal through mediators from Qatar and Egypt contained "unacceptable" demands.

Two Palestinian sources involved in the talks told AFP that the proposal included a 60-day ceasefire, the release of 10 live hostages and the bodies of Matak hostages in exchange for Palestinians detained by Israel.
The group has set some conditions, including Israel's withdrawal from Gaza. It is also demanding a guarantee of non-resumption of hostilities during the talks and the resumption of the UN-led aid delivery system.
Israeli President Isaac Herzog said after his meeting with Netanyahu on Sunday, "Netanyahu has an 'important campaign' in Washington, which is advancing the deal to bring home all our hostages."
Out of 251 hostages taken by Palestinian militants during the 2023 attack, 49 are still in Gaza, 27 of whom have died, the Israeli military has confirmed.
