A deadly heat wave has continued to affect much of Italy. As a result, red alert has been issued in major cities.

The number of patients in health care centers has increased. As of Wednesday, at least five people have died in Italy from heat-related causes.

In Rome, authorities have deployed staff from the Red Cross in tourist hotspots and transport hubs to serve refreshments. 

Special assistance services have been activated for the vulnerable and homeless people of the city. A red alert has been issued in 20 cities this weekend.
