The Serbian government has announced two new grant programs to promote artificial intelligence (AI) and green technology-based research, which will provide support worth more than USD 110 million.
According to Nenad Filipović, director of the Science Fund of Serbia, an amount equal to 98.4 million US dollars has been allocated under the 'Program for Artificial Intelligence Research Projects'.
The program will be conducted for a period of two years and under it, around 25 to 30 projects will be supported, focusing on topics related to healthcare, biotechnology, education, agriculture and information security. This program will be carried forward in cooperation with the European Union and the World Bank.
Similarly, for the second phase of the 'Green Program - Science and Industry Cooperation', an amount equal to 11.7 million US dollars has been allocated . This program, run by the national budget, will be run for one year, which aims to support the protection of the environment, waste and waste water management, maintaining the purity of the soil and air and the protection of biological diversity .
Serbia's Minister of Environmental Protection, Sara Pavkov, expressed her happiness at the launch of the programs, saying, 'I expect that this green program will provide essential innovative solutions for environmental transformation, which will lead to significant results based on practice . These efforts will help us move towards a clean and sustainable future.'
