At least 935 people lost their lives in Iran during the 12-day long war with Israel, Iranian state media reported on Monday. This information was made public about a week after the ceasefire came into effect.
"During the 12-day war launched on our country by the Zionist regime, 935 martyrs have been identified so far," said the official news agency IRNA, quoting Justice Council spokesperson Asghar Jahangir.
132 women and 38 children are among the dead.
According to Iran, on June 13, Israel launched a bomb attack targeting Iran's military camps, nuclear research sites and residential areas. It is mentioned that high-ranking military officers and scientists died in those attacks.
Iran also attacked the major cities of Israel using missiles and unmanned aircraft as a response. According to Israeli officials, 28 people were killed in those operations.
The cease-fire came into effect between the two countries on June 24.
