On Monday, Israel launched an airstrike on the Iranian military structure and the famous Evin prison in Tehran, the capital of Iran.

Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz described the operation as an "unprecedented attack on the regime's control structures". According to him, the targets of the attack included the Evin prison, the command center of the domestic Basij militia and the structure of the Iranian army. The Israeli army said in a statement that the aim of the attack was to destroy those structures, which were involved in monitoring internal security and ensuring the stability of the regime in Iran. Iranian media reported that after the attack in Tehran, the power supply system was affected and there was a power outage for some time. On the other hand, Israel's National Electricity Company also said that the damage occurred near a "strategic structure" in the southern part of the country, although the location and cause were not disclosed .

Speaking at an emergency meeting of the United Nations Security Council, Rafael Grossi, Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency, said that although there is visible evidence of damage at the Fordo site, the underground damage could not be assessed. He stressed that armed attack on nuclear facilities should not happen under any circumstances.

Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi has warned that the attack by the US and Israel will seriously affect the nuclear diplomatic initiative. He commented that this intervention could "close the door of peaceful negotiations".
