The American warship USS Nimitz canceled the plan to stop in Vietnam and departed from Southeast Asia to the Middle East on Monday.

The USS Nimitz is about to head to the Middle East to increase the American presence at a time when Israel and Iran are at war.

According to Marine Traffic, at 13:45 local time, the plane was heading towards the Indian Ocean through the Malacca Strait.

A Vietnamese government official has confirmed to AFP that a reception scheduled for June 20 aboard the USS Nimitz has been cancelled.

The official shared the letter from the American Embassy and informed that the Ministry of Defense is about to cancel the program due to "emergency operational requirements".

A spokeswoman for the US Embassy in Hanoi and Nimitz declined to comment to AFP.

One of the world's largest warships has left for the Middle East despite international calls to ease tensions on the fourth day of the escalating air war between Israel and Iran.

According to Iranian officials, at least 224 Iranians, including top military commanders, nuclear scientists and civilians, have been killed in the attack by Israel.

In response, Iran fired missiles at Israel and warned that it could take "effective, targeted and more destructive action".

The American ambassador to Israel, Mike Huckabee, said that Iran's missile attack caused slight damage to the building of the American embassy located in oil.
