34 people died in floods in the eastern states of India

Floods are increasing in the northeastern states of India. According to news agency Reuters, 34 people have died in the flood so far.

Thousands of tourists are trapped in flood in Sikkim. Army rescue teams are active in Meghalaya to evacuate people safely. It is said that more than 500 are trapped in this area. 

Manipur Fire Service, Assam Rifles, SDRF and Andrf are trying to rescue the people trapped in the flood.

According to news agency PTI, more than 56,000 people have been affected by the floods in Manipur. More than 10,000 structures have been destroyed by floods here.

On Tuesday, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi requested the leadership of the eastern states to provide all necessary rescue, relief and support to the victims of the flood and landslide.

News agency PTI has mentioned that Modi sought information from Assam and Sikkim Chief Ministers Himanta Vishwasharma and Premsingh Tamang and Manipur Governor Ajay Bhalla about the impact of floods and landslides. Modi also assured that he would provide all possible support from the central government.
