South Mumbai, Kerala and Karnataka are affected due to heavy rains. According to the Meteorological Department, with heavy rains starting in some places from Monday, life has started to be affected in Kayan places.

Monsoon has been declared to have started after heavy rain in Mumbai on Monday . Kerala has been the worst hit due to heavy rains. According to the Kerala Chief Minister's Office, four people have died in Kerala so far due to the monsoon. A high alert has been issued for the next five days in the coastal region of Karnataka.

India's National Ocean Information Services Center (ESSO) has issued a warning that high waves may occur in the coastal areas of Goa, Karnataka, Maharashtra and Kerala. ESSO has also called for the temporary suspension of recreational activities in coastal areas.

The Department of Meteorology has been issuing red, orange and yellow alerts based on the level of alertness with the change in weather. The department has issued a yellow alert in Delhi for the coming Friday and Saturday.
