UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres has said that the war in Gaza is now at its most painful and brutal.
Relief materials began to enter Gaza after Israel eased the tight siege that had been in place for some time. But more than 15 trucks loaded with relief were looted on the way, which made the situation even worse.
The Gaza Strip has been in the grip of war for a long time. Due to the war, there is a shortage of food and medicine. Israel has again launched a major military operation to destroy the group called Hamas.
Only on Friday, 16 people were killed and many injured in Israeli air strikes in different parts of Gaza, according to the Civil Defense Department of Gaza.
Guterres said, "The people of Gaza are facing a situation now, which is probably the most brutal situation of this war."
According to him, only 115 trucks out of 400 trucks have reached Gaza so far. The relief so far is like pouring a drop of water when there is a fire everywhere. While Gaza needs a large amount of aid.
The World Food Program has reported that 15 trucks carrying relief have been looted in the southern part of Gaza. Those trucks were delivering food to the local bakery for making bread. The organization has said that hunger, despair and fear of whether relief will come or not has made the current situation even more insecure. Israel has been urged to bring in more and faster relief.
The Israeli army has said that operations have been carried out on weapons warehouses, military bases and hiding places of fighters in Gaza. The army said that more than 75 places were bombed from the sky.
Israeli settlements bordering Gaza are also on alert due to the fear of rocket attacks. Three health workers were injured in an Israeli drone attack on al-Awda hospital in the north of Gaza. AFP journalists saw the scene of many houses being destroyed and black smoke rising in southern Gaza.
This war started again on March 5th, when Israel resumed operations against Hamas. Since then, 3,673 people have been killed in Gaza. A total of 53,822 people have been killed in Gaza since the start of this war, most of them civilians.
