French President Emmanuel Macron, German Chancellor Friedrich Merz, Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk and British Prime Minister Keir Starmer paid a historic joint visit to the capital of Ukraine, Kiev, on Saturday.
The visit, held on the third year of the Russian invasion of Ukraine, clearly demonstrates European unity, humanitarian values and strong support for Ukraine.
Leaders have held high-level discussions with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and called for an immediate and unconditional 30-day ceasefire with Russia. They emphasized that dialogue and diplomatic initiatives should be prioritized for the establishment of lasting peace. Which will ensure Ukraine's sovereignty and national security.
On the occasion, the leaders pointed out the need for a long-term peace process based on the United Nations framework, expecting international support for the credible implementation of the ceasefire. In addition, they have also expressed their support for the 30-day ceasefire initiative proposed by US President Donald Trump.
