Officials of India and Pakistan have confirmed that they have agreed to a ceasefire, as announced by US President Donald Trump and Secretary of State Marco Rubio on social media.
Indian Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri has said, "Saturday at 3:35 pm according to Indian time, there was a phone conversation between the directors of military operations of India and Pakistan". Based on the conversation, it has been agreed between the two sides to immediately stop war and military activities in all three areas, including land, air and water, from Saturday 5:00 pm according to Indian time.'
Similarly, Pakistani Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar has also confirmed that there is an immediate ceasefire agreement between India and Pakistan. Posting on social network X, he responded that Pakistan is always in favor of peace and security in the region and they will not compromise on the sovereignty and integrity of the country. According to the BBC, there will be talks between the two sides on May 12.
