Six women, including famous pop singer Katy Perry, have returned to Earth after visiting space. They went into space as tourists on a New Sephardt rocket built by billionaire Jeff Bezos' company Blue Origin.
Along with Perry, Bezus' wife Lauren Sanchez, television host Gayle King, former NASA employee Aisha Bowie, civil rights activist Amanda Nguyen and filmmaker Kyrian Flynn were among those on the space tour.
Although the ticket price of the 11-minute long flight is not clearly disclosed, various international media have mentioned that it is 150,000 dollars, which is about 20 million Nepalese rupees according to the current exchange rate.
In it the passengers circled half the earth. The team of women reached 100 kilometers above the Earth's surface, the last layer of the atmosphere known as the 'Karman Line' and just above the beginning of outer space.
During that time, they responded that they felt weightless for a while. They said that they floated inside the craft and were able to observe the darkness of space along with half of the Earth.
Singer Perry, who carried a daisy flower on a space trip, also sang the song 'What a Wonderful World'. Scientist Bowie conducted three researches related to botany and the human body.
They took off from the West Texas desert at 9 am and landed again at 10:50. This was Blue Origin's 11th flight to send tourists into space. After returning to Earth, Perry kissed the ground and blew the daisy away. The BBC revealed that Daisy is also the name of his daughter.
"Such space travel involving only female passengers took place 60 years ago," BBC news said, "at that time, Soviet cosmonaut Valentina Tereskovsky traveled alone." She is also the first woman to travel solo in space.
