South Korea's Constitutional Court has dismissed President Eun Suk Yeol. After the declaration of military rule last December, the parliament passed the impeachment motion against Yun. With that he was suspended.
The court's acting chief judge, Moon Heung-bae, said during Friday's hearing that there was enough reason to pass the impeachment against President Yun.
'Yun has flouted constitutional institutions and violated the people's fundamental rights,' the chief judge said, reading the court's decision.
Moon says that his move is unacceptable from a legal and constitutional point of view. "The negative consequences and effects of such activities are very serious, and it is beneficial for the country to remove him from the presidency to restore constitutional order," Moon said.
Constitutional Court's decision to dismiss President Yun unanimously Moon said. With the decision of the Constitutional Court, there will be a president in South Korea within 60 days. Yun unexpectedly declared martial law on 3 December. He claimed that military rule had to be declared to save the country from anti-state and North Korean forces.
