Russia will recruit 160,000 soldiers

Russia is going to recruit 160,000 new soldiers. President Vladimir Putin has announced that 160,000 more soldiers will be recruited into the country's army, according to international media.

According to CNN, President Putin has signed an order regarding military recruitment. According to the order, the military recruitment process, which will start from Tuesday, will continue until July 15. According to the order, 160,000 Russians between the ages of 18 and 30 will be included in the military service.

According to the Russian government news agency Tas, Russia recruited 10,000 new soldiers last year. According to Tas, more soldiers are going to be recruited in accordance with President Putin's plan to increase the size of the Russian army. Three years ago, Russia had about one million soldiers. Currently, this number has increased by about 5 lakh.

Russia is going to recruit a large number of soldiers when it has been fighting a war with Ukraine for more than three years. Recently, Russia has been relying on North Korean soldiers to displace Ukrainian troops in the Kursk region. According to South Korean and US officials, North Korea has deployed about 15,000 soldiers in the area several times. But South Korean officials claim that about 4,000 North Korean soldiers were killed among them.

Russian law prohibits conscripts from being sent to combat zones without proper training. The Russian official claims that the newly recruited soldiers will not be used in the war with Ukraine. But after the Ukraine war, there have been reports that enlisted soldiers were pressured or misled to sign, according to CNN.

Recently, US officials are discussing with Russia to end the war in Ukraine. But the Russian army has continued to attack Pokrovsk in the Donetsk region. In the past few days, the Russian army has intensified air attacks on Ukrainian cities.

Meanwhile, senior Russian negotiator Kirill Dmitriev is expected to visit the US this week to meet with Trump's special envoy, Steve Wittkoff. His visit is the first to be held for talks since Russia invaded Ukraine in 2022. Wittkoff, who visited Moscow earlier, had a meeting with Russian President Putin.

It is believed that relations between the two countries have improved after Donald Trump assumed the presidency in the United States in January. But recently, after Russia's disagreement with the US proposal for a ceasefire in the Ukraine war and Russia's proposed conditions for a ceasefire on the Black border, Trump has become somewhat angry.
