Iranian President Masoud Pezheshkian has refused to hold direct talks with US President Donald Trump. He said that although he is not against the Iran talks, he does not want to sit directly with the US, and has made it clear that he is only ready for indirect talks. The Trump administration has warned of bombings and more economic sanctions if Tehran does not agree to the deal.

President Pezheshkian said after the cabinet meeting that America must first correct its mistakes. According to him, direct talks are not possible until America can win trust. Iran sent a reply to the US President's letter through Oman and informed that it rejected the offer of direct talks.

Meanwhile, US President Trump said in an interview with NBC that if Iran does not agree to the deal, the US may bomb. He warned of reimposing a strict economic embargo like four years ago. According to analysts, Iran is right not to trust Trump, because he broke the 2015 nuclear deal.

Advisor to Iran's supreme leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, Kamal Kharaji said that all the doors of negotiations with the US are not closed. He said that through indirect talks, Iran will understand the intentions of the other side and then make a proper decision.

According to the United Nations International Atomic Energy Agency, Iran is not about to build a nuclear weapon, but it does have the necessary nuclear material. Iran maintains that its nuclear program is peaceful. The Iranian economy has weakened due to US sanctions, making the talks even more important. However, this diplomatic problem has become more complicated after the disagreement in direct talks.
