UK announces 100 million pounds for Myanmar earthquake victims

The UK has announced that it will provide 100 million pounds (129 million US dollars) of humanitarian aid to Myanmar on Saturday.

Due to the earthquake that happened in Myanmar on Friday, there was a huge financial loss and the UK government has announced aid to help with the relief and rescue work. 

More than 1,600 people have died in Myanmar due to the earthquake and extensive damage has been caused.

The statement issued by the British Foreign Ministry said, "This UK fund will assist the supply of food, water, medicine and housing goods to the areas most affected by the earthquake."

Britain had previously banned individuals and organizations with ties to the junta government.
