US President Donald Trump has announced a new tariff. According to which, 25 percent tariff will be imposed on cars and car parts imported into America.
With this step of Trump, the suspicion of starting a global trade war has increased. Trump said the newly announced tariffs will take effect on April 2. He says that it can be implemented in car parts in May or later.
Trump has claimed that this step will lead to an attractive growth in the car industry and will also increase employment in America.
But experts have expressed a different opinion about it. According to them, this move could temporarily stop the production of important cars in America. According to experts, an increase in the price of rupees may cause tension in the relations with the partner countries.
America imported 8 million cars last year . It is about 240 billion USD business.
America has the highest number of car imports from Mexico. It is followed by South Korea, Japan, Canada and Germany .
