Israel has started airstrikes on Gaza Strip, ignoring the ceasefire agreement, and has also started ground attacks on Thursday. At least 85 Palestinians were killed in airstrikes carried out by Israeli forces in Gaza on Wednesday night and Thursday morning, according to the Health Ministry run by Hamas.
According to the BBC, the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) intensified their attacks on Khan Younis and Rafah towns in southern Gaza and Beit Lahiya in the north. Hamas fired three missiles at Israel, the IDF said. But the IDF said that the missiles were neutralized before they entered Israeli territory.
More than 430 Palestinians lost their lives in the attacks carried out by IFD last Monday and Tuesday. More than 100 children and women are killed. More than 660 people were injured in that attack.
The Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) launched more attacks after Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu announced the resumption of fighting in the Palestinian territories. Netanyahu said that he will "fight with full force" against Hamas. He says that the latest attack is "just the beginning".
The attacks carried out over the past three days are the worst since the ceasefire agreement between the two sides came into effect on January 19. The agreement mentions that the ceasefire will be implemented in three phases. In the first phase of the ceasefire, it was said that the second phase would be negotiated. But the war broke out again because the talks could not be held.
The proposed second phase mentions that Israel will withdraw its troops from Gaza. But Israel and the US insisted on extending the period of the first phase. Their proposal was to release the remaining hostages in exchange for more Palestinian prisoners during that period.
But after Hamas did not agree, the war flared up again. Netanyahu said he had to restart the fight for the return of the remaining hostages. But the hostages' families criticized Netanyahu's decision. They say that the government neglected their loved ones .
Netanyahu has warned that Israel's attack against Hamas in Gaza is just the beginning. Netanyahu claims that after Hamas rejected all proposals for the release of the Israeli hostages, he had to start the attack again. He also stated that the attack on Hamas was launched in coordination with the US President Trump administration.
