Russia has agreed to stop attacks on Ukraine's energy infrastructure for a month. Russian President Vladimir Putin agreed to this in a telephone conversation with US President Donald Trump on Tuesday.

But Putin has said that during the 30-day ceasefire period, Ukraine will not be able to provide additional military deployments or weapons. Similarly, Trump and Putin have agreed to talk soon about the safety of transporting goods in the Black Sea, according to the BBC.

In a telephone conversation between the two presidents, Russia and Ukraine have agreed to exchange 175 prisoners of war from Wednesday. In it, Russia will hand over 23 seriously wounded Ukrainian soldiers who are being treated in their country.

The two presidents also discussed possible cooperation to prevent future conflicts in the Middle East, according to CNN. During the talks, there was a discussion about the need to stop the proliferation of strategic weapons. Similarly, Trump and Putin have also agreed that Iran should not aim to destroy Israel.

After the phone conversation between the two leaders, the Russian President's Office, the Kremlin, said that American President Trump supported the proposal of the Russian President Putin to host the US-Russia hockey game. "Donald Trump has supported Vladimir Putin's idea to host a hockey game between the US and Russia between Russian and American players who play in the NHL and KHL," the Kremlin said.

Before the talks with Trump, Putin opposed the sanctions imposed by Western countries on Russia. Addressing a meeting of the Russian Federation of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs, Putin said that the sanctions imposed on Russia are "illegal". "Competitors always want to surround Russia and weaken its economic and technological potential," Putin said.

Earlier, the two leaders had a telephone conversation on 12 February. During the talks, issues ranging from ending the war to visiting each other's countries were discussed between the two leaders. In a 90-minute long telephone conversation, both presidents agreed to immediately start talks to end the Ukraine war.

President Trump responded that the conversation with his Russian counterpart was long and very fruitful. During the conversation, both the presidents have also invited each other to visit their respective countries.

A week after the talks between the two leaders, Russia and America have also held foreign minister level talks in Saudi Arabia . It has been agreed to hold talks between the high-level team to end the war between the two countries in Saudi Arabia talks. Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov and Russian President Putin's foreign policy adviser Yuri Usakov participated in the

talks. Likewise, the US team led by Secretary of State Marco Rubio included National Security Adviser Mike Waltz and US Special Envoy for the Middle East Steve Wittkoff. Saudi Arabia's Prince and Foreign Minister Faisal bin Farhan Al-Saud and National Security Adviser Musaid bin Mohammed Al-Aiwan were also present at the

talks. In the press conference held after the talks, Foreign Minister Rubio said that no one was sidelined in the talks. Russian Foreign Minister Lavrov responded that the two sides had a very useful conversation. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said that he did not participate in the

talks and said that any talks without the participation of his country would be invalid. But after informal talks with the US, the US President's office reached the White House for a mineral agreement. But Zelensky returned without a deal after a heated argument with US President Trump and Vice President JD Vance.

But President Zelensky, who was under pressure after the Trump administration's decision to stop military aid to Ukraine, was ready for talks with America. Because of this, the two countries held talks with Ukraine in Saudi Arabia on March 11.

In talks between the two countries, Ukraine agreed to a ceasefire for a month. In the Saudi talks, Ukraine accepted the US proposal for a 30-day ceasefire on land, sea and air with Russia. But the proposal has been rejected by Russia.

Yury Usakov, an aide of Russian President Vladimir Putin, rejected the temporary ceasefire as giving Ukraine a chance to regroup. He says that Russia is looking for a long-term peace agreement in Ukraine. Likewise, Dmitry Peskov, the spokesman of the Russian Presidential Office, Kremlin, responded that he was waiting for detailed information from the American side about the talks.

After the Russian reaction, Steve Wittkoff, the special envoy of US President Trump, has already met with President Putin in the Russian capital, Moscow. Wittkoff said that a lot of progress was made in the meeting with Putin. After that, US President Trump said that he received a "positive message" about the possibility of a ceasefire.

After Ukraine prepared to join the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO), Russia attacked Ukraine on February 24, 2022. Since then, Russia has taken control of about 20 percent of the territory of Ukraine. Since the full-scale attack, four regions of Ukraine, namely Donetsk, Luhansk, Kherson and Zaporizhia, have come under the control of Russia. Europe's largest nuclear plant is located in Zaporizhia, controlled by Russia.
