13 people were killed in an attack by the Israeli army on the Gaza Strip on Wednesday. The Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) launched more attacks soon after Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu announced the resumption of fighting in the Palestinian territories.
According to the Palestinian Wafa news agency, two people were killed in a drone attack on a temporary camp near Al-Mawasi residential area. Five people were injured in the incident.
The IDF said it attacked a Hamas military site. The IDF claims that Hamas is preparing to fire at Israel from that location. Boats controlled by Hamas were also hit, the IDF said.
Earlier, Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu had said that he would "fight with full force" against Hamas. He claims that the attacks carried out in the last two days are 'only the beginning'. The Ministry of Health, run by Hamas, said that the level of the attacks carried out on Tuesday night was not that big.
Earlier, 413 people were killed in the attacks carried out by Israel on Monday night and Tuesday morning. The attack is the worst since the ceasefire agreement between the two sides came into effect on January 19.
It is mentioned in the agreement that the ceasefire will be implemented in three phases. In the first phase of the ceasefire, it was said that the second phase would be negotiated. But since the talks could not be held, the war has started again.
In the second phase of the proposal, it is mentioned that Israel will withdraw its troops from Gaza. But Israel and the US insisted on extending the period of the first phase. Their proposal was to release the remaining hostages in exchange for more Palestinian prisoners during that period.
