After Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky accused the Russian leader of trying to undermine the ceasefire initiative, Russian President Vladimir Putin has called for the surrender of the Ukrainian army in Kuskrak.

US President Donald Trump urged Putin to protect the lives of Ukrainian troops, saying his ambassador had "fruitful" talks with the Russian leader about a proposed 30-day ceasefire.

Recapturing most of the territory occupied by Ukraine last August, Russia has been retaliating strongly in the western border area of Kusrk for the past one week .

A defeat in Kusak would be a major blow to Ukraine's plans to use its grip on the region as a key bargaining chip in peace talks for the three-year-long war.

In a speech broadcast on Russian television, Putin said, 'We sympathize with US President Trump's call.'

Putin also called on the Ukrainian army to surrender. Said, 'If they lay down their arms and surrender, they will be guaranteed life and honorable treatment.'

Trump has said that thousands of soldiers in Ukraine are completely surrounded by the Russian army and are in a very bad and vulnerable condition.

Zelensky reviewed the situation in a brief conversation with journalists in Kiev and said, 'The situation in the Kusk region is certainly very difficult, but the campaign is still important.' He said Russia was being forced to withdraw troops from other frontline areas, easing pressure on Ukrainian forces fighting to maintain control of Pokrovsk, the epicenter of the Eastern military offensive.

US President Donald Trump informed about the meeting between his Ambassador Steve Witkoff and Putin on Thursday and proposed a ceasefire between the US and Ukraine for 30 days.   "We had a very good and productive discussion with Russian President Vladimir Putin yesterday and there is a very good chance that this terrible and bloody war will end," Trump said on his own investment social network (Truth Social Platform).
