As of Saturday morning, the country's emergency services said at least 12 people were killed in the overnight Russian attack in eastern Ukraine. This incident took place a few days before the negotiations for a ceasefire between the US and Ukrainian negotiators in Saudi Arabia.

According to emergency services, 11 people were killed and 30 injured in a Russian attack on the center of Dobropilia in the Donetsk region of Ukraine on Friday night.

Oleg Sinegubov, the military chief of the Kharkiv region, said that one person was killed and seven others were injured in a drone attack in the city of Bogodukhiv on Saturday morning.

US President Donald Trump threatened to impose new sanctions and tariffs on Russia overnight.

The US President told reporters on Friday, 'He believes in Russian President Vladimir Putin. I really find it difficult to deal with Ukraine and they have no choice. It may be easier to make an agreement with Russia.'

Also, President Donald Trump threatened to impose new sanctions and tariffs on Russia for bombing Ukraine on Friday, shortly after briefing reporters.

'Russia is now attacking Ukraine completely on the battlefield. "I am strongly considering imposing massive banking sanctions, embargoes on Russia until we can reach a cease-fire and peace agreement," Trump said on his social media platform.

'Russia and Ukraine, now come to the negotiating table,' he wrote  .

Trump's threat came at a time when Russia launched a massive drone and missile attack on Ukraine's energy infrastructure on Friday.

A few days ago, after the dispute with President Volodymyr Zelensky, the Trump administration stopped the distribution of US military aid and intelligence sharing with Ukraine.

Kevin Hassett, director of the National Economic Council, said Trump's threat was part of a diplomatic strategy.

'President Trump is adamant that we have to bring everyone to the table. He is talking to everyone,' Hassett told reporters.
