Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has said he is still open to a mineral deal with the US. But for that, he says, Ukraine should get a guarantee of security.
Zelensky, who arrived in Britain after a heated exchange with US President Donald Trump and Vice President JD Vance during the meeting at the White House, said that he is ready to move forward together with the US. But he says that Ukraine will not leave any territory to Russia in the name of peace agreement.
He said that he is still willing to have constructive talks with the US. "We want our partners to remember who is the aggressor in this war," he told reporters.
British Prime Minister Keir Starmer led the summit held in London on Sunday, the leaders of European countries are ready to discuss with the United States to stop the war in Ukraine. They agreed to draft a Ukraine peace plan and discuss it with US President Trump. Along with Zelenskiy, French President Emmanuel Macron, European Commission President Ursula van der Leyen, European Council President Antonio Costa and other heads of state and government of 18 European countries were present at the conference.
British Prime Minister Starmer has put forward a four-point plan to end the Ukraine war and protect the war-torn country from Russian encroachment. Starmer's plan includes increasing economic pressure on Russia and continuing military aid to Ukraine, attending Ukraine peace talks and ensuring Ukraine's sovereignty and security through negotiations, increasing Ukraine's defensive capabilities to prevent any future attacks, and forming alliances to maintain peace in Ukraine even after the agreement.
Prime Minister Starmer has said that other countries will participate in the coalition along with Britain and France, and efforts will be made to involve the United States in support of Ukraine. However, he did not mention any countries that agreed to participate in the coalition of countries willing to help Ukraine. But European countries are waiting for the American response regarding the next strategy regarding the peace agreement. After the
conference, Ukrainian President Zelensky responded that "Ukraine felt strong support and a high level of European unity was seen after a long time." "To ensure peace and security, all of us in Europe are working together to prepare the basis for cooperation with the United States," Zelensky said. Starmer also announced an additional £1.6 billion in aid for Ukraine. It is said that the aid will be spent by Ukraine for the purchase of air defense missiles. Earlier, Starmer and Zelensky signed a 2.26 billion cooperation agreement. France has asked warring Russia and Ukraine to lay down their arms for a month. French President Macron has made a proposal on Sunday evening that he wants a ceasefire between the warring nations in air, sea and energy infrastructure.
Dmitry Peskov, the spokesman of the Russian Presidential Office, Kremlin, has warned that Russia will continue military operations in Ukraine until the objective is achieved. He says that no coordination or initiative has been started on any agenda to end the war in Ukraine. Spokesman Peskov claims that the countries participating in the summit held in London on Sunday want to continue the war in Ukraine. A group of those countries are clearly in favor of war. Those countries are supporting the continuation of the Ukraine war and providing supplies for military operations,' he said.
