The Vatican informed that the health condition of Pope Francis is stable. The Pope, the head of the Catholic Church, who was born in Argentina, was admitted to Gemelli Hospital in Rome on February 14 due to bronchitis.

During the treatment, he was also diagnosed with pneumonia. He is in need of oxygen support for breathing due to a serious infection in his lungs.

Since Saturday, his condition is 'stable', the Vatican said. "The Pope rested overnight," the Catholic Church and Vatican City's governing body (Holy See) said in a brief update on Monday morning. The Vatican said on Sunday that the leaders of the world's 1.4 billion Catholics needed non-invasive mechanical ventilation on Friday and Saturday, i.e. ventilation masks, and were still taking large amounts of oxygen.

On Sunday, Francis had a general conversation with Vatican Foreign Minister Italian Cardinal Pietro Parolin and Venezuelan Archbishop Edgar Peña Parra.

"Jesuit" who has been the Pope since March 2013 is being treated in a special "suite" reserved for the Pope on the 10th floor of Gemeli. Born George Bergoglio, Francis was unable to participate in the traditional Angelus prayer for the third consecutive Sunday, but a message written by the Pope was read during the prayer. .
