When isolated from a bat sample, it was found in a study that this virus can infect human cells as well as small groups of artificially developed other cells. According to a report published in Newsweek, this new virus has the ability to bind effectively to the human 'ACE-2 receptor'. In laboratory tests, the virus was able to infect human cells and other organs. Therefore, it is suspected that it can be dangerous.
After the discovery of HKU-5-COV-2, it is very important to observe the corona virus found in bats, researchers suggest.
