After the power cut in Chile, a large area of ​​the country has been affected. However, electricity has been restored in some areas of the capital, Santiago.

After the nationwide power cut, a curfew has been imposed in the affected areas and the army has been deployed in those areas, according to the international media BBC. 

South America's biggest music festival 'The Viña del Mar' has also been cancelled. Electricity is being supplied from generators to hospitals and prisons in the country. 

Local authorities have said that the transport system has been completely affected. The government has said that this situation has occurred due to system failure. 

The President of Chile, Gabriel Boric, said in a televised address that 8 million homes were affected after the power cut. He says that half of the houses have been restored with electricity.
