50-year-old Rekha was administered the oath by Delhi Lieutenant Governor Vinay Kumar Saxena in a ceremony held at Ramlila Maidan. Pravesh Verma, Ashish Sood, Rajouri Garden, Manjinder Singh Sirsa, Ravindra Indraj Singh, Kapil Sharma and Pankaj Kumar Singh have taken oath as Chief Minister. In 2003, Rekha became the secretary of BJP Delhi Yuva Morcha and became the national secretary of BJP Yuva Morcha in 2004. In 2009, she became the general secretary of the Mahila Morcha of BJP Delhi.
