The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is returning to power after 27 years after winning 48 out of 70 seats in the Delhi assembly elections. But even after four days of the announcement of election results, New Delhi has not got a new Chief Minister.

The BJP, which returned to power after 27 years, has started preparations to form a new government, but the official name of the chief minister has not yet been announced.  BJP MP Bansuri Swaraj has told the Indian media, "The Chief Minister will be selected by the top leadership."

Hindustan Times also quoted a BJP leader as saying that the swearing-in ceremony will be decided only after Prime Minister Narendra Modi returns from his US visit. Prime Minister Modi is scheduled to return home on February 15. Even though there are speculations about who BJP will make the Chief Minister, it does not seem to be certain.

Indian Express has mentioned that the BJP leadership will appoint whoever is recommended by the RSS as the Chief Minister . Hindustan Times has mentioned that the discussion about the chief minister is intensifying within the party. This time, the party has chosen the chief minister from among its newly elected legislators. It is also mentioned in the news that women can be selected.

Quoting a senior leader of the Bharatiya Janata Party, it is mentioned in the news that there is a possibility that one of the Sikh leaders or women will be selected.

Looking at the previous elections in Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan and Odisha, it is seen that the tendency of the party leadership to keep its strategy secret before making a big announcement has been maintained this year even after the Delhi Assembly elections. Within the

party, the names of BJP's women's department vice president Rekha Gupta, Sheekha Roy who lost the election to Aam Janata Party's Saurabh Bharadwaj, former minister Smriti Irani and Sushma Swaraj's daughter Bansuri Swaraj are in discussion.

Most of the Indian media have pointed out that the BJP is more likely to choose the Chief Minister in terms of balancing women or caste equation .

Some BJP leaders are saying that the new Chief Minister should be selected from among the elected BJP MLAs. There is also speculation that the new Chief Minister may be a woman, a Singh or a 'Purvanchali'.

Ekthari is speculating about the names of Pravesh Burma, Ramesh Bhadori, BJP MP Manoj Tiwari and Kapil Mishra to defeat Chief Minister and Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) founder Arvind Kejriwal.
