389 Nepalis were returned from America in 6 years

The data of 389 Nepalis returned to Nepal by the US during the period of 6 years without official documents has been released. The US Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) has released the data that 389 Nepalis were returned to Nepal from 2019 to 2024.

According to ICE, among those who crossed the border and entered the US, those who did not have any documents for residence were arrested and returned. According to ICE data, 162 people were returned to Nepal in 2019, 97 people in 2021, 23 people in 2021, 28 people in 2022, 22 people in 2023 and 57 people in 2024. ICE has already made it public.

According to ICE, those who crossed the border illegally and entered the US and  Since they did not get any documents for residence, they were arrested in Nepal and returned to their respective countries. 'After we crossed the border and entered the United States, the process of deportation was initiated after questioning when they did not have any documents for residence and they did not even have their own citizenship or passport,' the ICE report said, 'They were returned to their respective countries within a short period of time.' 

It is mentioned in the data that 998 thousand 334 undocumented immigrants were expelled from America in the period of 6 years along with Nepali. ICE is preparing to expel 14 lakh 45 thousand 549 this year alone. According to ICE's annual report, 267,258 people were deported in 2019, 185,884 in 2020, 59,111 in 2021, 72,177 in 2022, 142,580 in 2023, and 271,484 in 2024.

Most of those deported during this period are 434,827 from Mexico. 127,492 in 2019, 1,388 in 2021, 31,761 in 2021, 33,822 in 2022, 54,56 in 2023 and 87,298 in 2024. In the second, 185 thousand 713 of Guatemala and 142 thousand 349 of Holduras in the third were returned to their own country. 

President Donald Trump has announced that all undocumented immigrants will be deported from the United States upon taking office. He also gave instructions to arrest more than 1,500 people daily to speed up the eviction process. According to Pew Research, there are currently 11 million undocumented immigrants in the United States. Most of them are from Mexico, El Salvador, India, Guatemala, Honduras, China, Dominican Republic, Venezuela, Brazil and Colombia .
