Trump's all-round opposition after saying that he will occupy Gaza

US President Donald Trump has been widely opposed after saying that he will take control of Gaza and relocate Palestinians elsewhere. The Palestinian group Hamas, Palestine, Egypt, Britain, France, Russia, Saudi Arabia, China, Australia, Turkey and other countries have condemned Trump's comments.

In a joint press conference with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, who is visiting America, Trump said, "The United States will take control of the Gaza Strip and we will destroy all dangerous explosive bombs and other weapons there."

Palestinian group Hamas said Trump's proposal was unacceptable. "America's racial approach is consistent with the Israeli far-right position of displacing our people and ending our cause," Hamas spokesman Abdel Latif al-Kanoou said in a statement.

"Such comments are hostile to our people and our cause, and do not benefit the stability of the region," the statement said.

Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas has also rejected Trump's proposal. "President Mahmoud Abbas and the Palestinian leadership categorically reject the proposal to occupy the Gaza Strip and displace Palestinians from their homeland," Abbas' office said in a statement. Similarly, Palestinians in Gaza have also opposed Trump's resettlement plan.

Similarly, various countries have also opposed Trump's comments. Egypt has objected to President Trump's statement of taking control of Gaza. According to Egypt's Foreign Ministry, Foreign Minister Abdel Ati met with Palestinian Prime Minister Mohamed Mustafa in Cairo and both leaders jointly rejected Donald Trump's plan to end Gaza's rights.

The two leaders emphasized the need to move forward with initial rehabilitation projects and programs to clear the rubble of Gaza and provide humanitarian aid quickly, the BBC said. They insist on reaching a permanent and judicial political solution to the Palestinian issue through the establishment of a Palestinian state.

British Prime Minister Keir Starmer has reiterated that there is no alternative to the establishment of a 'two-state' solution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. Starmer has insisted on the continuation of the current cease-fire in Gaza. He says that the Palestinians should be allowed to return home and rebuild in Gaza. 'They should be allowed to go home . There should be permission for reconstruction and we should move towards a two-state solution,' Starmer said.

British Foreign Minister David Lammy has also said that there is no alternative to the 'two state solution'. "We need to see the Palestinians settle and prosper in their homelands in Gaza and the West Bank," he said.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of France has also stated that it is against the move to "forcibly relocate Palestinians from Gaza". France says that the control of a third party in the area is unacceptable. France has made it clear that Israeli and Palestinian two-states are the long-term peace and solution to the problem .

Dmitry Peskov, the spokesman of the Russian Presidential Office, also opposed Trump's comments and said that the existence of Israel-Palestine is the solution to the problem, according to Reuters.

Likewise, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Saudi Arabia has said that any attempt to displace Palestinians from its land will be rejected . Saudi Arabia says that relations with Israel will not be established without the creation of a Palestinian state.

Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese and China have also considered the existence of Israel-Palestine as the main basis for solving the problem. Turkey's foreign minister says any plan to 'leave the Palestinians out of the equation' will lead to more conflict .

After a 15-month-long war, a ceasefire was signed in Gaza two weeks ago . Millions have been displaced during the war and more than 60 percent of structures have been destroyed. Before the war, Gaza was home to 2.2 million people. 775,000 of them were living in Rafah and Khan Yunis, Deir al-Balah, and Gaza City. But the population has been displaced during the war.

The United Nations Environment Program (UNEP) has warned that it will take a long time to rebuild Gaza. UNEP reports that water and sanitation systems are almost completely dysfunctional. In addition, there is a risk of contaminating the soil and water supply with chemicals from destroyed solar panels and used weapons, according to UNEP.

UNEP has said that more than 50 million tons of waste and debris have been accumulated due to the war and it will take about 21 years to clean it . "The increasing environmental damage in Gaza has put the local people in a painful situation and it is very difficult to return to normal," UNEP Executive Director Inger Andersen said.

Hamas attacked Israel on October 7, 2023, killing 1,200 people. 251 people were taken hostage. After that, the war between Hamas and Israel escalated. According to the Ministry of Health in Gaza, more than 47,000 Palestinians have lost their lives in the war since October 7. More than a third of them are children.

According to Palestinian authorities, the number of children killed has exceeded 18,000. 100,000 were injured in the Israeli attack. More than 1400 people have died in Israel.

The cease-fire and hostage release agreement between the two sides came into effect on January 19. The agreement mentions that the ceasefire will be implemented in three phases. It is mentioned that Hamas will release 33 hostages in the first phase of the 6-week-long ceasefire . In return, about 1900 Palestinian prisoners in Israeli prisons will be released. According to the agreement, both sides have released some hostages .

It is mentioned in the agreement that the second phase of the cease-fire negotiations will take place 16 days after the start of the first phase. In the second phase, the rest of the hostages will be released and the Israeli army will be completely withdrawn from the Gaza Strip. It is mentioned in the agreement that the reconstruction of Gaza will be carried out in the third and final phase. At this stage, it is said that the rest of the hostages will be released and the bodies will be returned.
