A plane carrying illegal Indian immigrants has landed in the US. The ship of the American army landed at Sri Guru Ramdas Ji International Airport in Amritsar, Punjab province.

According to the local media, 116 immigrants have arrived in India by the US Army plane. It is said that 25 of them are women and 12 are children. There are 11 crew members and 45 US officials on board. 

It is said that the immigrants brought to India on Wednesday are from Punjab, Gujarat, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh and Maharashtra. Among them maximum 33 people are from Gujarat . It is said that there are 32 people from Punjab. Other migrants are from Uttar Pradesh and Maharashtra, according to Indian Express.

With Donald Trump assuming the office of the US President, the US has intensified the process of returning illegal immigrants to their countries. Immediately after Trump took office, he signed an executive order to deport illegal immigrants.

Earlier, Indian Foreign Minister S. Jaishankar had said that he was ready for the 'just return' of Indian citizens who were 'illegally' in America. After the meeting with US Secretary of State Marco Rubio, Yashankar spoke to reporters and said that he is ready to take back the illegal citizens in the US. 

According to the latest data, India is said to be working with the Trump administration to bring back 17,940 illegal or undocumented Indians in America. 

According to the data of Pew Research Center, the number of Indians living illegally in America is on the third place. According to the Pew Research Center, there are an estimated 725,000 undocumented Indian immigrants in the United States. This is the largest number after Mexico and El Salvador.
