Israel-Hamas ceasefire: Bipin Joshi will not miss the first stage

Bipin Joshi, a Nepali citizen who is under the control of the Palestinian group Hamas, will not miss the first phase of the ceasefire. Israel has released a list of 33 hostages to be released by Hamas in the first phase of the ceasefire.

Bipin's name is not included in the public list. Bipin, who came to Israel to study agriculture under the "Learn and Earn" program, was taken hostage by Hamas on October 7, 2023 from Alumim Kibbutz. 

Hamas took 251 hostages, including Bipin, on October 7, 2023, after an attack on southern Israel. Among them, 94 people are still under the control of Hamas, including 1 from Nepal, 1 from Tanzania, 8 from Thailand and 84 from Israel. There are 81 males and 13 females among them. According to Israeli officials, 60 of those held by Hamas are alive.

Hamas has announced that it will release three people from the list of 33 people once the ceasefire agreement comes into force . According to Hamas, Doron Steinbrecher, Emily Damari and Romi Gonen will be released on the first day . 

31-year-old Doron Steinbrecher is a veterinary nurse . She was in the apartment of Kibbutz Kfar Aza when Hamas attacked on October 7. Emily Damari, 28, was taken hostage from Kibbutz Kfar Aza . He is said to have dual citizenship of the UK and Israel. Similarly, 24-year-old Romi Gonen was ambushed while trying to escape from the Supernova Festival.

According to the Israeli Prime Minister's Office, Hamas released 119 hostages during a temporary ceasefire for disabled and humanitarian aid. 8 people were freed by the Israeli army and 37 people were handed over after death. 3 people who escaped from the control of Hamas were killed in the attack of the Israeli army . 

The attack by Hamas on October 7, 2023 killed 1200 people in Israel. After that, the war between Hamas and Israel broke out. According to the Ministry of Health in Gaza, 46,800 Palestinians have lost their lives in the war since October 7. More than a third of them are children. According to Palestinian authorities, the number of children killed has exceeded 18,000. 100,000 were injured in the Israeli attack. More than 1400 people have died in Israel.

Earlier, Foreign Minister Arzu Rana Deuba appealed to Qatar's Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Mohammad bin Abdul Aziz Al-Khulaifi over the phone for the release of Bipin, who is under the control of Hamas. During the conversation with Rana, he said that he would try to release Bipin as soon as possible. 

A ceasefire agreement has been reached between Israel and Hamas, mediated by the US and Egypt along with Qatar. According to the agreement, 33 people, including 5 Israeli soldiers, will be released in the first phase lasting 6 weeks, and in return, Israel will release Palestinian prisoners. 42 in the first phase. During the day, Israeli forces in the Gaza Strip will withdraw from populated areas and Palestinians will be allowed to return to their homes in northern Gaza, where humanitarian aid will be provided. It is said that assistance will be provided.

It is mentioned in the agreement that the implementation of the second and third phase of the ceasefire will be further discussed from the 16th day of the first phase. As mentioned in the agreement, the Israeli army will completely withdraw from Gaza in the second phase and instead Hamas will release more prisoners including soldiers. Likewise, it is said that Hamas will return the remaining hostages or bodies in exchange for the 3 to 5-year reconstruction plan to be carried out in Gaza under international supervision in the third phase.
