France and Germany have warned Donald Trump, who is saying that Greenland, the autonomous region of Denmark, is necessary for America. Both the countries have warned the incoming President of America Trump that they will not allow an attack on the sovereign border of any member state of the European Union.
President-elect Trump will take office on January 20. He has been saying that the Greenland Islands are important for America's national and economic security. On Tuesday, he reiterated that Greenland is essential to the US.
In response to that, French Foreign Minister Jean-Noel Barrot said that 'the European Union will not allow any other country in the world to attack its sovereign borders'. Barrot says he does not believe that the US is going to attack Greenland. Also, German government spokesman Steffen Hebestrate, in response to Trump's comments, said that Germany has always been determined not to move the borders by force.
Earlier, the Prime Minister of Greenland Mute Aged told Trump that "Greenland is not for sale and will not be available for sale". We must not lose our long struggle for freedom. However, we must remain open to cooperation and trade with the entire world, especially our neighbours,' he said.
Trump previously said in August 2019 that he wanted to "buy" Greenland. But the then prime minister of Denmark, Mette Frederiksen, announced that "Greenland is not for sale". She has been the Prime Minister of Denmark continuously since June 2019.

The American Space Force's Pitufic Air Base is located on the northwest coast of Greenland. Because of this, Greenland is strategically important for the US military and its ballistic missile warning system. Trump has also repeated that former US President Harry Truman once offered to buy Greenland. Truman offered to buy it for $100 million in 1946.
