Delhi assembly elections on February 5, results 3 days later

The Delhi assembly elections will be held on February 5. The Election Commission of India has fixed the date for the Delhi assembly elections on Tuesday.

According to Election Commission of India Chief Commissioner Rajeev Kumar, the results of the Delhi assembly will be announced on February 8. Out of 70 seats in Delhi, 12 are reserved and 58 seats are general.

There are a total of 1 crore 55 lakh voters in Delhi, of which 83 lakh 49 thousand are men and 71 lakh 74 hundred are women . According to the commission, the number of voters who voted for the first time is about 2 lakh. The commission also says that there will be more than 13,000 polling stations in Delhi, which is also the capital.

The Aam Aadmi Party government has been in Delhi for 10 years. Aam Aadmi Party has released the list of candidates for all 70 seats in Delhi. Similarly, the Bharatiya Janata Party has released a list of 29 candidates and the Congress has released a list of more than 40 candidates.

The Aam Aadmi Party won 62 seats in the last Delhi Assembly elections held in 2020. Similarly, the Bharatiya Janata Party won 8 seats while the Congress had zero seats. In Delhi, the Congress had failed to win even one seat in the 2015 elections. In the elections held in 2015, the Aam Aadmi Party won a huge majority (67 out of 70). Similarly, the Bharatiya Janata Party had to settle for 3 seats.

Arvind Kejriwal formed the Aam Aadmi Party on November 26, 2012 while being involved in Anna Hazare's social movement.  Aam Aadmi Party won 28 seats in the 2013 elections. Aam Aadmi Party is currently running the government in Punjab as well. Similarly, the Aam Aadmi Party, which won 5 seats in the 2022 Gujarat assembly elections, has also become a national party.
