Air pollution in India's capital New Delhi on Monday has been measured as 'very bad'. Every year with the onset of winter in Delhi, the problem of air pollution is recurring.

According to the Central Pollution Control Board, the level of pollution in Sakurpur and surrounding areas has been recorded as 'very bad' i.e. AQI 346. Similarly, the level of pollution in Anand Vihar area has reached over 300. In the area around India Gate, the AQI level has been recorded at 309, while in Safdarjung, it has been recorded at 307.

Delhi Chief Minister Atishi Marlena visited Anand Vihar along with Environment Minister Gopal Rai. During that, Atishi has also discussed the reason for high air pollution in Anand Vihar area besides monitoring the pollution control efforts. 

It is reported that air quality has deteriorated due to cold weather, smoke and dust from old vehicles.  Pollution in India's rivers  As the level rises, toxic foam is seen floating in the river Yamuna. Soap, detergents and other polluting materials are said to have mixed with the river.

Meanwhile, the air quality index has shown that the air level is also decreasing in Kathmandu. On Monday morning at 10:30, the air quality index of Kathmandu was 142, Lalitpur 157 and Bhaktapur 137.
