Rusty tin roofs are falling down. The condition of iron structures is also the same. The walls are broken. And the bush growing everywhere looks ugly. This is a ruined structure, the Bhrikuti Paper Factory located at Ghindakote near the banks of Narayani River. This industry is spread over 52 bighas including factories and residential areas.

It has been 15 years since the scene of crowds of workers, truckloads of paper raw materials, and vehicles leaving the factory carrying paper products has not been seen here . Established four decades ago with the aim of making Nepal self-sufficient in paper, this factory in Nawalparasi Bardghat-Sustapur has now become a ruin.

All structures in the factory look dilapidated. From the outside, only the skeleton of a big machine can be seen . The Bhrikuti paper factory, once the pride of the country, has become overgrown with bushes and has become like a hovel. The paper produced by this industry was once exported to foreign countries. And almost 60 percent of the country's total demand for paper was fulfilled by this industry . But this is all history .

The Chinese government had built this industry as a support to make Nepal self-sufficient in paper. The industry, which was established in 2039, started production from 043 Baisakh. After privatization, Bhrikuti Paper Factory came into operation under the name of Bhrikuti Pulp and Paper Limited . After the political change of 2046, Bhrikuti paper was one of the three industries that were privatized for the first time in accordance with the policy of prioritizing liberal economic policy and privatization led by the Girija Prasad Koirala-led government formed in 2048 through general elections. This industry was privatized on 20th January 2049 . This industry has been closed since January 2067 after 24 years of operation and 17 years after privatization. The main buyer of this industry is Golcha Organization .

'When will the charm of the ruined and deserted Bhrikuti paper factory return?' Even now everyone is interested but this question remains unanswered.
